Restoration Hardware Knockoff Crib

Along with then Restoration Hardware bookcase I'd been admiring, I was also falling in love with their Jameson crib, but again it was more than I wanted to spend.  So, Dad to the rescue! He and my brother built a very similar crib for MUCH less on a Sunday afternoon and my awesome hubby painted it in the same shade of the Annie Sloan chalk I paint!  The Restoration Hardware crib is in the top photos and mine is on the bottom!  I absolutely LOVE it!!!!

  1. I was planning on doing the same thing with the exact same crib. Do they happen to have the plans they used or did they just wing it? I'm getting stuck on the wood dimensions I should be using. Thanks.

  2. The dimensions are on the website. That is what my dad used. Also, we had a crib from a family member that was old that they were tossing out so my dad used the rails and hardware to attach the rails from that crib, then used the dimensions online to build the rest. Let me know if you have any other questions, I can ask him what he did and get you answers! :)

  3. My biggest question is what size of post he used for the corners. They look like a 3x3 but it is hard to tell just from the pictures. Also curious if he had to router the piece that goes on top of the head/footboard or if he bought them like that. Thanks.
