Beautiful Wardrobe

The Wardrobe is Finally Finished and Beautiful!  I would love to keep it, but unfortunately we don't have the room.  I currently have it stored with all of my vintage linens and I just love it.

The wardrobe and most of the linens can be purchased on my etsy site here!

Christmas Home Tour

I am linking up with kellyskornerblog.com and http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com and joining their Christmas Home Tousr.

I have been slacking on the home tours lately so I thought, showing our home decorated for Christmas would show some of the things we have done.  For those of you here for the first time I will give you some quick background.  My husband and I purchased this home, a foreclosure, in complete disrepair last October when I was about 2 months pregnant with our son.  We have put tons of hard work into it, and though it it not yet where we want it to be, we are extremely happy with how far we have come.  We have done almost all of the work ourselves.  Check out some of my previous posts to see before and afters.

In the year that we have had this home we continue to do home renovation projects, refinished antique furniture, (check our or facebook page here), and we have welcomed our first child!

It has been a crazy year and having an 8 month old didn't allow me to decorate as much as I'd like this year, but we are already planning for next year!

Enjoy and Merry CHRISTmas!

Our live tree in our family room...
The beautiful fireplace was built by my dad and brother based off a picture I found on pinterest.  I have been loving cozy nights by the fire already this winter!

The bookcase was a $5 thrifty find!

Beautiful Wardrobe

Well, it has been awhile since I have blogged...sorry about that.  With the holidays, things have been so busy around here and projects have slowed down a bit as well.  This month we have completed one project though, and that is an antique wardrobe makeover.

We bought this wardrobe on an online garage sale website and it was in very rough condition.  It looked like this when we got it and was slowly falling apart.

We bought this piece to re-sell and it turned out beautifully.  My husband began by completely taking the rotting wood off of the back and replacing it with large panels.  He then added shelves to the piece as people today need pieces like this for storage, but not usually to hang clothes.  We though the shelves would make this piece a bit more versatile.  We had full intentions to paint the outside a scuffed up royal blue and the inside a crisp white, but once we sanded down the wood we just couldn't bring ourselves to paint over it.  So we stained and lacquered it.

It turned out beautifully and is for sale. Check out more pieces of furniture here!

Kitchen Table Updo!

Below are pictures of an antique table my husband and I purchased at an auction.  We had plans to just resell it the way it was as I loved the original look, but unfortunately buyers weren't into it.  After it sitting in our garage for 6 months, my husband finally thought something needed to be done with it.

Just a reminder...Check out our facebook page for more of our furniture projects HERE!  And all of the furniture and vintage items we have for sale can be purchased on etsy HERE!

Here is the Before...

SEE!  Not bad at all!  I think it would have looked adorable in the perfect primitive decorated home.  Either way it didn't sell, so it had to go!

Here of late the painted white furniture with stained tops has been selling super fast, so that is what my husband decided to do and it came out beautifully!  So beautiful that I of course didn't want to sell it, but unfortunately I am running out of room in my house so it has to go!
