Christmas Home Tour

I am linking up with kellyskornerblog.com and http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com and joining their Christmas Home Tousr.

I have been slacking on the home tours lately so I thought, showing our home decorated for Christmas would show some of the things we have done.  For those of you here for the first time I will give you some quick background.  My husband and I purchased this home, a foreclosure, in complete disrepair last October when I was about 2 months pregnant with our son.  We have put tons of hard work into it, and though it it not yet where we want it to be, we are extremely happy with how far we have come.  We have done almost all of the work ourselves.  Check out some of my previous posts to see before and afters.

In the year that we have had this home we continue to do home renovation projects, refinished antique furniture, (check our or facebook page here), and we have welcomed our first child!

It has been a crazy year and having an 8 month old didn't allow me to decorate as much as I'd like this year, but we are already planning for next year!

Enjoy and Merry CHRISTmas!

Our live tree in our family room...
The beautiful fireplace was built by my dad and brother based off a picture I found on pinterest.  I have been loving cozy nights by the fire already this winter!

The bookcase was a $5 thrifty find!

  2. You have a beautiful Christmas tree, so big and so full! It must have taken hours to decorate it. Having it by the fireplace is the perfect touch. What wonderful memories you are building in your "new" home, complete with the family-made fireplace. You must have a very talented and craftsman family! I like your kitchen and dinette area too -- love the color scheme and the design esthetic. I saw your link at Thrifty Decor Chick's Christmas tree linky party. Thank you for showing us your home.
