The Latest Upcycle

My husband has had a goal to complete one piece of furniture a week as our garage is filling up with projects! So much so that we have a 3 car garage and only one car is getting parked inside currently!  Yikes!  He was determined to finish this before the weekend.  He repaired a lot of broken parts, sanded and restained the top, added new hardware to the top two drawers, painted the rest a crisp white and it turned out great!  It sold in a matter of minutes after posting it on Facebook, and rightly so!  Beautiful piece!  Go ahead and take a look.... Here is a reminder of the BEFORE...

And the AFTER...

Antique Dining Room Table Makeover

This weekend's project had been in the works for quite some time.  My husband and I purchased a heavy oak dining room table at an auction for around $30.  We had planned on putting it in our dining room at our new house.  The table was in rough condition as it had been painted and attempted to be stripped.  My husband had to make some repairs to the legs and sanded the entire thing down.  The legs and sides still looked a bit rough sone repainted the bottom and then stained the top in dark walnut.  He added 4 coats of lacquer and now it is absolutely gorgeous.  We decided to sell the table because it is large and we will probably be turnings our formal dining room into a toy room soon.  We sold it within hours for $375 which I think was a great deal for this large heavy table!

We have a few more projects in the works.  Stop back to see the progress!
